Support for Street-Connected Children and Young Mothers
ICT Partner, KEOOGO, are based in Ouagadougou and primarily focus on the groups of vulnerable children who find themselves surviving on the streets.
KEOOGO’s aim is to bring about the rehabilitation and social integration of children in street situations by improving their access to health and education. The programme provides medical care to boys and girls on the street, from its clinic established in Ouagadougou and through teams of KEOOGO workers on the streets. It also provides education and professional support for school-going and non-school going children (those who are recently off the street).
KEOOGO also works intensively with young mothers, who have successfully come away from the street, and their babies in the KEOOGO host village – a therapeutic and educative accommodation to rehabilitate former street girls and help them build a future for themselves and their children.
