Emergency Clean Water Support for Children and Families in Gaza
In Palestine, ICT supports the Gaza Lifeline project, which works to reduce death and illness among children and families in the current life-threatening and critically precarious situation in Gaza.
The project responds as an emergency clean water team, helping relieve severe thirst and rehydrate children suffering from diarrhoea and sickness caused by drinking contaminated water.
Water is distributed in central Gaza, across the city and district of Deir al-Balah, from the desalination plant on the outskirts of the city, with distribution points chosen to reach children and families most in need.
Without this support, many families would be forced to buy water privately, which few can afford, or turn to unsafe natural water sources contaminated by chemicals, sewage, and brackish water.
